Mines, mountains, and hills, the most traditional medieval city with stone buildings and castles and a king, worship Ra-Khul-Cim and his seven horsemen, nobody has heard from the city in many months
The Weld to the north acts as a border between Cim-Khetar and Il-Oovi, its many runoffs feeding water to the city of Cim-Khetar. To the east is the established border between Cim-Khetar and Cradle, in the middle of the Papa’s Spine mountain range. In the south Cim-Khetar was continuously expanding and claiming every mountain peak as their own, so the border between Cim-Khetar and Brekkon was never established. To the west stirs the Sea of Broken Bows, named because of its jagged stones that only allow the best sailors through.
Worships Ra-Khul-Cim and his seven horsemen, Cae-Stuper, Cae-Rivid, ta-Empira, Dil-Gaced, Huma-Vae-Rita, Huma-Lux-Ur, and Pae-ta-Gula.
Ra-Khul-Cim is the black-handed god-king, representing unrelenting power, he is the god of utter domination. Under his will live his seven horsemen, who represent various virtues and vices, with every person born devoted both to the god-king and to a horseman. Cae-Stuper represents both chastity and pride, keeping to himself and thinking of himself as better than the rest as he strives to self-improve and prove himself second to the god-king. Cae-Rivid represents both charity and envy, she gives as much as she needs to have just more than those around her, keeping herself one step above. ta-Empira represents both self-restraint and wrath, she lets those around her push until they cross boundaries that will let her take justified vengeance tenfold. Dil-Gaced is a two-faced being that represents both rest and work. He is the separation between doing what needs to be done, and taking time to recover afterwards, however his followers often fall into one of his two extremes. Huma-Vae-Rita represents both kindness and greed, she rewards her followers for doing good deeds by giving them influence, and power. Huma-Lux-Ur, her brother, represents humility and lust. He is the youngest horsemen and is treated as such, so he is insecure and plots against the other horsemen with the desire to take their power. Finally- but not least- is the horsewoman Pae-ta-Gula, who represents gluttony and patience. She has the largest following among nobles and her rewards come later in life when her followers gain influence on their own, she exponentially increases it.
Cim-Khetar is the Black Domain, conquered by Ra-Khul-Cim’s mere presence. The landscape is marred by mines in the ground and mountains in the sky, where darkness falls as the sun passes the mountain peaks. The Weld is the historic boundary between Cim-Khetar and Il-Oovi, as the Khuls of Cim-Khetar have no interest in the swamps and preferring to dig deeper into Tolg, perhaps to find Ra-Khul-Cim himself. The Sea of Broken Bows lies to the west, its jagged stones protecting the city-state from any would-be invaders with only the Althumn Navy being skilled enough to navigate it- leading to a small trade agreement between the two. To the south, Cim-Khetar was ever expanding into the deserts of Brekkon, until months ago where expansion stopped for seemingly no reason. To the east, the Papa’s Spine mountains separate Cradle and Cim-Khetar, with a shaky agreement between the two where Cradle is allowed to climb the peaks for pilgrimage while Cim-Khetar mines into and underneath them.
The society of Cim-Khetar is very traditionally medieval with a king, or khul as they are called, leading it. He has absolute power, but often confers with his court wizard, called a maeg, for important decisions to be made. The current khul of Cim-Khetar is Rald Bear-Breaker, with maeg Wilson Everstorm, who made big advances in Tolg diplomacy before they suddenly ceased communications.
Built into the mountains outside of Papa’s Spine is a great keep of cobbled stone with draconic reliefs carved into them. Around it are walls many stories tall, spanning a great area of the region- this being the city of Cim-Khetar. Within these walls are many small villas for farming, livestock, and mining, becoming more scattered as they drift further from the main keep. All nobility reside at the keep, with many shops, tradesmen, and guards nearby.
The khul takes no active part in the goings-on of his city, as long as the mines run and citizens eat he is content to let the nobility and guards handle the workings of the city outside of his castle. This has led to noble families being able to do what they see fit without punishment as long as they can pay the guards off. However, after the public execution of every member of the Grishweld noble family, crime and chaos was mostly reigned in, now almost exclusively happening behind closed doors.
There are as many dwarves in Cim-Khetar as there are humans, and all three were once dwarfed by the gith who are said to have built the city under direct guidance from Ra-Khul-Cim himself. Since those days, the gith population has dwindled until they were considered completely extinct.
The Cim-Khetar military values heavy armor and two-handed weapons as they make a slow, steady, inexorable advance. They have battlemages skilled in destruction as backline who throws powerful spells ahead of the march without care, ensuring total destruction in their wake.
Domination. Influence. Complete control. Superior physical might and mental acumen. Those who can control power in any form please Ra-Khul-Cim.
Atrade agreement exists, as well as free passage into Cim-Khetar along the Papa’s Spine mountain range. Both of these are thought to have been done more from necessity than desire.
Il-Oovi:Atrade relation exists as the nobles of the region love the various jade sculptures and jewelry from Il-Oovi.
Brekkon:Cim-Khetar has spent years slowly expanding into Brekkon territory. Since Brekkon has no formal government, the only obstacle to expansion were the various raider gangs in the Risen Sea desert. Suddenly, months ago, the expansion seemed to slow to a complete halt, but if rumors are to be believed then an entirely different expansion in the form of a plague has begun to spread out into Brekkon.
Biis:Biis is viewed with disdain, as they are believed to think themselves better than the rest of Tolg, having abandoned worship and the land itself hundreds of years ago.
Althum:While never having strong interactions, Althum’s navy has been able to reach Cim-Khetar shores to ask for a peace treaty with full passage through their waters.
Essilada:Aside from rumors that Essilada also mines deep into Tolg, there has been no interaction or even attempt to communicate between Cim-Khetar and Essilada.
