This will be a brief summarization of some changes to creatures made in Tolg, and some common ones and where they exist. Most of the enemies in the wilds will be raiders, bandits, and beasts. But below the surface or in areas seldom ventured to exist creatures that may not even be documented yet.
Practically cavemen, they are proto-sentient with crude tools and barely share one common language, with every tribe having a different dialect. Theyre found all over Tolg, but mainly exist inland and in ruins of former settlements.
Diminutive creatures that live underground, seen as regular pests by most, but enjoyed by the people of Il-Oovi where theyre seen as puppies.
Theyre around. Incredibly rare, from the dawn of Tolg theyve kept to their own devices, having stopped fighting lesser beings ages ago. Almost all that people are aware of are water-aligned and worship Oovi.
No half orcs baybee, youre orc or not. They dont tend to venture out of their strongholds (aside from occasional raiding parties), with the main distinction being in-hold: hostile; out-of-hold: non-hostile. More information can be found here.
Rare and spread throughout Althum, Cradle, and Cim-Khetar. Revered as saints by the people of Cradle.
Unfortunately abundant throughout Tolg, theyre seen as excessively powerful pests and are singlehandedly to blame for many settlements failing.
It's said that most fey beings exist in Jaeter Grove and the unclaimed territory south of Essilada. Most interactions with them end with being led astray into the treeline never to be seen again.
There is a distinction between two kinds of vampires in tolg: those who are born with a curse, and those who contract a disease.
Can walk the daylight with discomfort and dont need to drink blood (but do desire it). While not attacked on sight, they are hated and most people will have a negative disposition towards them as nobody is sure why the curse exists and think its still just a disease. Cursed vampires are born with the curse and have been known to migrate west instinctively. There are rumors that many of the nobles of Cim-Khetar are cursed vampires. Cursed vampires are the playable race above.
Those that have come into physical contact with another with the disease. There are many stages to the disease that are not understood, but it seems that most who contract it become thralls to the progenitor of the bloodline. These vampires are actively hurt by the sun and hide away from society, usually preying on or turning travelers. If the progenitor vampire is killed, the bloodline returns to the state they would be at currently (if theyre old enough, they immediately decompose and die but if theyre young they might just age quickly). This is only known because of Althums Mercenary Hall finding and killing Ekil delYuk, the progenitor of the delYuk clan of vampires.
